I needed an espresso or a rich robust coffee to really enjoy it.
There is a reason this place is packed at lunchtime. Delicious sandwiches on the freshest bread around. The menu has grown over the years and just keeps getting better. But I still go for the traditional St. Joseph's sandwich, with some olive salad on top - like a mini muffaletta.
Slice of pepperoni was good.
Was skeptical of the St.Joe on a bulky with everything. I was pleasantly surprised on how tasty it was.
Lobster tail was of the custardy variety. I prefer the creamy ones, but this was good.
Sal is the Michelangelo of haircut barbers. Wait if you must or make an appointment, it's worth it.
They didn't have Chinotto which I'm on a neverending search for, but they had Clementine S.P.. Its not surprised they didn't have it as only random stores only carry it. The S.P. site doesn't even have it listed in their product line (or I don't know how to access the site)
I read good reviews so I wanted to try this place. I was quite disappointed. I ordered the chicken bomb. It was just ok. The description says onions and peppers which, being a sub place, I thought would be fresh, then cooked on a griddle. Instead, I got preserved veggies which tasted alright but the put very few. Also, the chicken cutlets were a bit salty and didn't taste very fresh. My husband ordered and eggplant sandwich which was more tasty then mine; however, the eggplant tasted like it was dropped in the oil before the oil had reached the correct temperature. We also got an almond cannolo. It was ok, the cream was good but the pastry part was premade, not baked fresh, then they just fill it. On the positive side, it has decent prices and they did have cool Italian products you can buy. I'd come back for those but skip the sandwiches and pastries.
Parking kinda stinks when it's a busy summer day, but well worth the walk
Virgilio's was our first stop in town. The place was busy (a very good sign) and the service was fast and efficient. We ordered 5 sandwiches, the sizes are very generous, our boys were full after half of their sandwich. The food is very fresh and the bread was excellent. ."The bread makes the sandwich" as a sign says in the store. Prices are definitely fair. We are going to back for more!
