Great kids park, lots of places nearby to explore. The only thing I'm not a fan of is that the playground is so spread out. When you have more than one kid its very hard to keep them together so you can keep an eye on them at the same time.
I've been adventuring here since a kid and now I bring my own kids too; one of our favorite family places. Stage Fort in Gloucester Ma has two great beaches for swimming, an awesome kids park, and even a dog park. Rocks for climbing, paths to explore, and beautiful views. I always loved watching the fishing boats coming and going.

Great old Colonial and Civil war era fort. Although the fort is gone the cannons are still there. Great playground equipment, lighthouse carrousels, and a ship. You can see a couple of local lighthouses from here. Also a couple of beaches. Throw in a welcome and information center, and it makes for a great place to visit.
Wonderful place for everybody. There's a playground, a dog park, 2 beaches, lots of walking spaces, rock climbing and picnic tables. Theres tons of parking but they charge in the summertime. Great place to spend the day! There's even "The Cubbard" for food and icecream.!
