Great selection. Organized well. I go every summer and find stuff I like. Prices are very good.
Great store. Filled with books both modern and antique on myriad subjects. This is a place for book lovers; if you're expecting a Starbucks coffee and a predictable chain store selection this isn't the place for you. One can spend gleeful hours hunting through stacks for hidden gems. The owner is a friendly bibliophile; happy to strike up a conversation and help you find that special piece of esoterica for your collection.
The guy (Bob Ritchie) will ship your stuff to your home if you're on vacation. He's very helpful.
After Janet made an offhand remark about a $7 book price, he jacked the price to $20. Claimed because we spent money to visit the area, he could charge more. Told him to enjoy the tax dollars we were spending and walked out empty-handed.
A low-key shop with a great collection of used and rare books. Not sure why the previous reviewer gave it one star, Bob Ritchie's a very friendly & pleasant guy.
I will admit that the store could possibly be considered the local fire department's worst nightmare and that there is nowhere to sit. HOWEVER, I've been in the bookstore several times and I don't remember the owner ever being a grump. I haven't had the opportunity of going in a while so maybe the place has a new owner?
