North Shore Arts Association provides the opportunity to see the largest collection of paintings and sculpture on Cape Ann. Their beautiful, historic old building has three large galleries overlooking the harbor. They are closed between November and April but it's a wonderful place to visit in the spring, summer and fall.
While the gallery also offers a venue for established Cape Ann artists, it is especially exciting to find the new, aspiring talent on display here. You may very well find the next Frederick Mulhaupt, Anthony Thieme or Emile Gruppe (former members). Gloucester remains a quirky and inspirational fishing town that seems untouched by changing times.
